Film review : Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog  Millionaire

“Slumdog Millionaire“is a pretty lovestory which plays in the slums of Mumbai. It was nominated for 10 Academy Awards in 2009 and won eight of them. The film was directed by Danny Boyle.  The main characters of the film are Jamal Malik (Dev Patel), Salim (Madhur Mittal) and Latika (Freid Pinto).

The film is about a boy called Jamal, who is a poor boy from India and he wins 20 million rupees at “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” He answers every question apart from the last one. Then the show ends and he was taken to a police station, because the presenter of the show thinks he is cheating. At the station the police ask him question and hurt him. Jamal tells them about his life and that he knew the answers, because some events in his life.  The police officers get to know that Jamal don’t want to win the money, he wants to find his girlfriend again. He is skeptical about his last answer, he takes the phone joker and phones his brother, but Latika, his love, answers the phone call.

“Slumdog Millionaire” is a very interesting film. The songs in it fantastically match to each scene. The film perfectly shows the reality of the life in India and it`s a great mix of a love story, adventure movie and gangster film.
